From Justine Johnson Photography — Erica and Christina are just an amazingly happy and kind couple. I was thrilled to work with them from the very first e-mail I received, and their celebration was just as full of love as I knew it would be. There was a very nature-inspired theme to everything, from the natural wood guestbook to the birch tree centerpieces. The whole day was just gorgeous.

Mitch & Gina NYC + a poem: Alexis Stein Photography

Mitch and Gina’s ceremony in NYC proves that a romantic wedding can be grand with no bell and whistles necessary. Simple, true, candid – Love. What a wonderful day it was, a legal ceremony at townhall and the supremely talented Alexis Stein Photography there right afterwards  to capture the rest of a magical day.

From the couple (they wrote a poem!) –

A two people in love and they’re both women,

that’s us Mitch and Gina.

We met by chance and thousands  miles apart.

From a technology even our grandparents cannot imagine.

They may call it different names but our ‘s is special

Our love for each other has grown

From trials to triumphant

From sadness to happiness

We’ve both proven even distance is not a hinder for true and pure love

We may not be recognised, but some true and open minded people will

Freedom to marry of person you love, is our greatest dream

New York is the end of the beginning

London is the beginning of the end

Now we can stop dreaming , and live the dream.

– From the bride Rene “I married my partner and best friend, Daniece Mazyck. Daniece and I have been together since 2008; we met at a get-together for a mutual friend. At the risk of sounding banal, I knew she was the one for me as soon as I met her. We got married in Groton, MA at the Barn at Gibbet Hill. It was a beautiful summer day and we were surrounded by love. We cried, we danced, we ate, we kissed. It was an amazing experience for us, and we are very happy to have the photos to remind of that wonderful day.”

– From the Kristin Chalmers “Daniece and Rene did many details themselves including the place cards which were actual library book check out slips with the due date stamp as their wedding date and the table numbers above. There were a variety of used books scattered throughout the venue as take away favors since the brides are both in high education and went to Harvard and Northeastern University. They jumped the broom and everyone danced the day away.”

Dancing with the Starrs

Happy New Year! We thought we’d start this new year off with a whole lotta WHOA and WOW! We’ve been waiting for this wedding submitted by Lyncca Harvey Photography. You may remember  Kristi and Lisa Starr from their fab engagement session. I’m totally loving their Dallas wedding complete with a ‘The Dancing with the Starr’s theme – a play on their last names. How cool was that? Add in beautiful flowers, two gorgeous dresses and two delicious looking cakes and you have me totally jealous. This is one wedding I wish I had gotten an invitation too.  I’m sure it was as amazing as it looked!

From Kristi Starr — On October 10, 2010, after three and a half years together, we were married in West Dover, Vermont, just the two of us. Lisa proposed over a surprise romantic picnic by candlelight which she had setup in our living room. Even though we had already discussed it and decided together to get married, her proposal – with my full name (first, middle, and last) – touched me beyond words and brought tears to my eyes. What a true privilege it is to be able to say “we are getting married”. And now that we have the formal legal wedding out of the way, we are having the “big wedding” with family and friends, including a repeat ceremony, dinner and dancing here in Dallas, Texas, October, 2011. I’m happy to say my wife will be my bride once again, and I know that as soon as marriage is legalized at the federal level for all couples, we’ll do it again a third time!

DIY wedding + BBQ by Beth Therriault

This wedding will reign supreme for couples that want a casual, fun, DIY affair! Don’t you just love when family and friends come together to create all the special elements of a wedding? That’s exactly what happened for Shayne & Lindsay at their New Hampshire ocean front celebration. Beth Therriault Photography was there to capture every magical moment and their truly personal touches radiate through every single photo. Ocean waves + good BBQ + family and friends helping hands = one great time!

From Beth Therriault  — Shayne & Lindsay were married on July 23rd at New Hampshire’s oceanfront .  This was truly a DIY wedding, and the brides’ families and friends pulled everything together themselves. From hauling in three barbecue grills & coolers of cold beverages and salads, to skillfully creating beautiful sand and shell candlelight centerpieces, to the gorgeous flower arrangements, Shayne & Lindsay created a relaxed and loving seaside celebration.  Every detail of the day was overseen by these lovely brides…right down to their custom made Converse wedding sneakers!

The day was beautiful, sunny & warm, with a touch of a salt in the air.  Surrounded by love, and music provided by musician Karen Grenier.  Shayne & Lindsay joined their families together in a touching and sometimes hilarious wedding ceremony.   It was a beautiful day.
